If you’ve been following our progress so far, you’ll know I’ve already talked about some issues around Working with Photos. That’s mostly been things like whether a scan will work, what image format you should use and how to scan and crop a photo. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg, isn’t it?
Once you’ve got your photos into the editor, there’s a ton of other stuff if helps to know. When you tell a story using photos, you want them to get the message across ... and look great.
Lots of albumworks customers ask us:
How can I align photos?
There are a few handy hints that we can let you know of!
We offer a grid option that you can turn on, if it's not on already. Just select 'View', then 'Grid', and then Grid option you prefer. You can have it on all the time, or just when you move a photo about - whatever you prefer!
If you want to place a photo in a specific position, you can define the exact measurements that you want - just click on the nifty wee ruler icon, found fourth from the left in the right hand design menu, and fill in the 'x' and 'y' fields. NB: the red line is '0', so if you want something to go to page edge, add or subtract an extra 3mm (eg if you want something to go to page edge in the top left hand corner, both 'x' and 'y' need to be -3.
To align photos with each other, hold 'SHIFT' down when selecting them, then right click and chose 'Align/Space' and the alignment option you want. You can also use this to make sure that the gaps between your photos are exact and even with the 'Space Items' option.
And there you have it ‐ beautifully aligned pics, straight up☺.
Not as tricky as you thought, huh? Now you’ll be able to get all your favourite photos lined up and looking sensational.
Next week, I’ll give you a helping hand with Photo Books 101: Can I use my Facebook photos?
Don’t go away now! ;-)
