How do I create a firewall exception for the editor?

Uploading issues are commonly caused by firewalls. The firewall blocks access to our server, restricting the editor from uploading your file. To ensure this isn't the issue at hand, please make sure that the albumworks editor is an exception in your firewall.

Internal Windows Firewall:

To do this when using the inbuilt Windows Firewall, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to START -> Control Panel
  2. Click on "Security Center"
  3. Click on "Windows Firewall"
  4. Click the "Exceptions" tab
  5. Highlight "albumworks" and click "OK"

This will allow the albumworks editor access to the internet.

Norton Firewall:

To create an exception for the albumworks editor using Norton 360 (Version 2), please follow these steps:

  1. Start Norton 360.
  2. Click 'Settings'.
  3. Click 'Firewall Protection'.
  4. Scroll through the list of programs and select albumworks.
  5. Change the access to 'Allow', and then click 'Close'.

To create an exception for the albumworks editor using Norton Internet Security, please follow these steps:

  1. Start Norton Internet Security.
  2. In the main pane, click Norton Internet Security tab.
  3. Click 'Settings'.
  4. Under 'Web Browsing', click 'Personal Firewall' and then click 'Configure'.
  5. In the left side of Norton Internet Security Options window, click 'Personal Firewall' and then click 'Program Control'.
  6. In the 'Program Column', select albumworks.
  7. Change the access to 'Allow', and then click 'OK'.

If you're having problems creating an exception, or if you're using an older Norton product, please refer to Norton's support website for further information.

McAfee Firewall:

The following instructions apply for these McAfee products: Total Protection, Internet Security Suite, PC Protection Plus, VirusScan Plus, Personal Firewall.

To create an exception for the albumworks editor using one of these products, please follow these steps:

  1. Double-click the M icon in your taskbar to open McAfee.
  2. Select 'Internet & Network', then click 'Configure' on the right.
  3. In the section titled 'Firewall protection is enabled', click 'Advanced'.
  4. Select 'Program Permissions' from the 'Home' list on the left.
  5. Click the 'Add Allowed Program' button on the right.
  6. Use Windows Explorer to browse to 'Program Files' > 'albumworks' and select 'apc.exe'
  7. Click 'OK' and close Security Center.

If you're having problems creating an exception, or if you're using an older McAfee product, please refer to McAfee's support website for further information.

Zone Alarm Firewall:

To create an exception for the albumworks editor using Zone Alarm, please follow these steps:

  1. Open the ZoneAlarm control center.
  2. Select 'Program Control' on the left.
  3. Select 'Programs' on the top.
  4. Scroll through the list of programs and ensure that albumworks has a green check mark in the 'Access Internet' column.
