What binding options do you offer and why do they matter?
At albumworks, we offer two distinct binding styles — Classic and Layflat. Each one is thoughtfully designed to enhance how your photo book looks, feels, and lasts. Binding isn't just a functional detail; it plays a pivotal role in how your images are experienced and how your pages turn.
Our Classic Photo Book, also known as Perfect Bound, uses professional-grade PUR glue — far stronger and more flexible than standard bookbinding glue. This style creates a central valley in the spine, giving your book a traditional feel with gently curved pages. It’s ideal for longer stories, allowing up to 200 pages while still lying comfortably open in your hands. Whether you're creating a family yearbook, travel journal or baby milestone album, Classic binding offers the durability and familiarity people love.
For a more seamless visual experience, our Layflat Photo Book is the ultimate choice. Layflat albums have a unique construction where each page is glued to the next, resulting in an extra thick bonded page and allowing your book to open completely flat with no image loss in the centre. It's perfect for double-page photo spreads and panoramic images that deserve full attention. Each page is printed on thick, luxurious 400gsm E-Photo Lustre or Matte paper, giving the book a weighty, gallery-style feel. Layflat books can accommodate up to 140 pages and are the ideal choice for weddings, portfolios, or any project where visual storytelling takes centre stage.
No matter which binding you choose, every albumworks photo book is made with precision, care, and premium materials that are built to last. These are more than just books — they're keepsakes designed to be enjoyed for generations.
