How do albumworks binding types compare to Momento Photo Books?
If you’ve created Photo Books with Momento before, you may notice some similarities and differences when exploring the binding styles available at albumworks. Below is an overview of how our books are constructed so you can easily compare the options with what you may be familiar with.
Classic Photo Books (Perfect Bound)
Our Classic Photo Books are bound with state-of-the-art PUR glue — it’s incredibly strong yet flexible, meaning your pages won’t fall out even after years of flipping.
This style has a visible spine curve and the gentle valley down the centre, just like a traditional book. You can include up to 200 pages, which makes it perfect for larger projects like family histories or travel albums. We finish it off with lined end papers and beautifully trimmed, tucked covers for a polished, bookstore-quality result.

Layflat Photo Books
If you’re looking for a seamless, edge-to-edge display (great for full-page photos or panoramic images), our Layflat Photo Books are a standout. Each thick page is bonded directly to the next, giving you a durable, premium book that opens completely flat — no gutter or join in the middle.
Layflat books are printed on 400gsm E-Photo Lustre or Matte paper (both water-resistant and dirt-repellent), and can hold up to 140 pages. It’s a more modern finish than Classic, but just as robust — if not more!

This information is provided to help you understand the binding and construction methods we use at albumworks, so you can choose the style that best suits your project.
