Can I increase the quality of my photos?
Unfortunately, no — once a photo has been taken, its quality and resolution are fixed by the camera used. There’s no way to “enhance” a low-resolution image after the fact.
If a photo appears blurry, pixelated, or triggers a low-resolution warning in our editor, here are a few tips to improve your project’s photo quality::
Always shoot at the highest resolution available in your camera or phone settings.
Avoid using screenshots, photos downloaded from Facebook, or ones received by email, as they are often compressed.
If you're emailing a photo to yourself from your phone, you may be asked to select a size for the image - be sure to select ‘Actual Size’ for the best quality.
If someone else sent you the image, ask them for the original high res file.
If you’ve resized or cropped a photo in another program, try going back to the original version from your camera or phone.
Once a photo has been downsized, there’s no reliable way to restore its resolution — so using the full-size original is your best bet for sharp, high-quality prints.
