How do I install the editor on my Mac if I see an 'Unidentified Developer' warning?
If you're seeing a warning that the albumworks editor is “from an unidentified developer,” don’t worry — this is a standard security setting in macOS called Gatekeeper, which helps prevent apps from unknown sources from opening automatically.
Here’s how to install the editor anyway:
Option 1 – Open the app manually
Find the albumworks installer file (usually in your Downloads folder)
Right-click (or Control + click) on the file and select Open
A message will appear saying the app is from an unidentified developer. Click Open again to confirm
The app will now launch and install normally
Option 2 – Use System Settings (if Option 1 doesn’t work)
Go to System Settings (or System Preferences, depending on your macOS version)
Click Privacy & Security
Scroll to the bottom of the page and look for a message that says something like: “‘albumworks’ was blocked from opening because it is not from an identified developer.”
Click ‘Open Anyway’
Then confirm by clicking Open in the next pop-up window
Once the app is open and installed, macOS will remember your choice and won’t show this warning again for albumworks.
