What image file types can I use in my photo book?
The albumworks download editor supports the following image file types:
JPG (.jpeg)
PNG (.png)
TIFF (.tif or .tiff)
If you're using our online editor, it also supports HEIC files (used by many newer iPhones and Androids).
If you're using our download editor, you'll need to convert HEIC files to JPG first. Here's a guide to help: How to convert HEIC to JPG
File Size & Resolution Guidelines:
We recommend images be no more than 600 DPI
We recommend the maximum dimensions are 6000 pixels in width or height
(which equals a maximum of 50 megapixels)Ideal file size: around 5–6MB per image
Using very large or high-DPI files can slow down our editor as they use up lots of your computer’s RAM. They might also cause upload issues — so there's no benefit to going beyond these limits.
For the best results, use original high-resolution JPGs from your camera or phone, and avoid screenshots or overly compressed images. Here’s some important tips if you’re planning to use scanned photos in your Photo Book.
