How do I export photos from the Mac Photos app to a folder on my computer?
If your photos are in the Photos App on your Mac, you’ll need to export them before you can use them in our editor. Don’t worry — it’s easy!
Here’s how:
Create a New Folder First: Before exporting, we recommend creating a new folder on your Mac to keep all your exported photos organised in one place. It could be on your Desktop or somewhere easy for you to find. This will make it easy to import your images to albumworks later.
Open Photos App and Select Your Photos: Browse your library and choose the photos you want to export. Hold the Command key to select multiple images.
Export Photos:
Click File in the menu bar at the top left of your screen.
From the dropdown list, select Export > Export [number] Photos….
Ensure the file type is set to 'jpeg' and File Name is set to 'Use File Name'. Click Export.
Choose the new folder you created as the destination and click Export
After a minute your photos will start to export. When the export is complete you will see a notification saying 'Export of (number of photos) is complete.'
Your photos are now ready to use in the albumworks Editor… so once you start a new project, you can add the photos to your project in 2 ways.
Simply drag and drop your photos from the folder where they are stored directly onto pages in the Editor, or
In the Editor, click on the '+' sign under the 'Pictures' heading at the top left. Then select the file path where the pictures are stored. Highlight all the photos you want to use and then click ‘Select’.
This will add the pictures to the Pictures List on the left column of the editor. From there you can drag them onto the pages of your album.
